Kale - Brassica oleracea

Kale is a type of cabbage that has purplish or greenish leaves.  Kale is very high in nutrients and very low in calories, making it one of the most nutrient-dense foods on the planet. Kale is extremely high in vitamin C, an antioxidant that has many important roles in the body. A single cup of raw kale actually contains more vitamin C than an orange. Steamed kale is particularly effective.

Kava Kava - Piper methysticum

Kava kava is a shrubby plant containing substances that can soothe the anxious mind and body. Known also as ‘awa or kava, this plant is native to the Pacific Islands and has been a dietary staple of the indigenous peoples there for generations. The substances responsible for kava’s health benefits are called kavalactones and are found in the plant’s root. They act much like alcohol on your brain, making you feel calm, relaxed, and happy. The plant is also thought to relieve pain, prevent seizures, and relax muscles.   

Kuteera Gum Tree - Sterculia Urens Roxb.

It is a large tree often found in the hilly regions. A small quantity of the gum with honey taken in the morning is reported to be good for throat problems. The pounded root bark is made into a poultice and applied externally over wounds, fractures and inflamed testes. A small quantity of the pulverized bark is given to women to facilitate delivery.
